When I was a student at Fuller Seminary I was involved in a minor traffic accident in Pasadena CA due to the other driver running a red light. I ended up face down with several police officers on my back, resulting in permanent injury & pain. They over-reacted, bullied, used excessive force, failed to β€œde-escalate” , & made several significant errors of judgment & discretion. And yet despite being a college graduate with honors & having never been in β€œtrouble” before, all the blame was aimed at me, without apology. This was at the time that a guy named Melenkian was chief. As a Christian I do believe in β€œturning the other cheek” but also in appropriately addressing wrongs so that they don’t happen again. I took action against them, & I am fairly certain those specific police officers will never do what they did to me to anybody else again. Nonetheless, the damage they caused to me was permanent (chronic pain for life, among other things).

On New Years day 2024 I was resting on the grass 🏞️ at the semi-permanently closed Central Library across from Pasadena PD and they have what looks like an ex-con stationed inside the library with specific instructions to make sure nobody rests on the grass. He came out and tried to order me off the public property . I objected. 

Remember this is new years day after the famous Rose 🌹 Parade. 1000's of visitors. They're supposed to be extra nice  on NY Day.  I wasn't there to permanently camp out. But as best as I can tell they have orders from the top (probably Mayor Victor Gordo πŸ‘ŽπŸ˜‘ and/or library director Tim McDonald as well as others ) to make anybody on the grass feel uncomfortable about being there ( legally they cannot order you off, or "kick you off" so to speak, so it's basically a "harass until you leave policy"). 

Of course I know my legal rights and made an objection. And demanded to see the police. Both the sheriff deputies as well as Pasadena PD came over. The ex con whispered to the cops that I was homeless wanting to camp out. Nothing could be further from the truth. 

The police knew they couldn't legally remove me and didn't seem to be comfortable with what the ex con and the subsequent other security guard were doing to me on New Year's Day after I filmed the Rose 🌹 Parade (an annual project of mine ever since I came to Fuller Seminary many years ago,) but they seemed to feel their hands were tied to allow the "security" to harass me until I left. 

And these 2 security guards (one with untied shoes) were meaner than demons from hell πŸ˜‘πŸ‘Ž. Very sickening behavior by these people with obvious orders "from the top" (shame on Mayor Victor Gordo) . He should be fired for encouraging this despicable practice of harassment, especially on New Year's Day πŸ‘ŽπŸ˜‘πŸ‘ŽπŸ˜‘πŸ‘Ž
